Terror law film released
A FILM about controversial counter-terror laws banning spontaneous protest in Central London will be screened in the Renoir, Bloomsbury, on June 17.
SOCPA – The Movie traces two years of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act that bans unauthorised protests within a kilometre of Parliament.
It is claimed the 2005 Act was created to evict veteran anti-war campaigner Brian Haw from his protest Parliament Square.
Mr Haw, who won a judicial review and remains in the square after six years, features in a panel discussion at this one-off screening.
