Ruth Kelly praises Almo for ‘strong customer focus’
CITYWEST Homes, which manages the council’s 22,000 homes, has been recognised for excellence.
The Audit Commission gave CityWest Homes – one of the first arms-length management organisations in England – a three-star rating at a ceremony in Harrogate on Tuesday.
Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government Ruth Kelly said she was “particularly pleased” with CityWest, especially its “strong customer focus”. She said: “We want to put residents first and I congratulate the winners for doing just this.”
CityWest Homes had been criticised in recent weeks for mistakenly switching off the heating to a housing estate in Soho and threatening a tenant of the Millbank estate in Victoria with legal action. |
