Fake goods worth £250k seized in Oxford Street
TRADING standards officers on Tuesday bagged their largest ever haul of fake goods in a dawn raid on Oxford Street.
Seven retailers were busted for selling fake merchandise with an estimated street value of £250,000.
Counterfeit handbags, watches, sunglasses, leather biker jackets and rock band T-shirts were taken.
They were mostly copies of well-known luxury brands like Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Nike.
Councillor Audrey Lewis said: “The retail of fake goods in shops is an offence which we take very seriously in Westminster. Our action sends a clear message that we are a step ahead of their game and will not let this crime go unpunished.”
