Constable for trial
A WESTMINSTER police officer allegedly used confidential contact details stored on a computer database for blackmail, a court heard.
Amerdeep Singh Johal, 28, is accused of demanding up to £100,000 after threatening to expose people as drug dealers.
The constable, 28, appeared in Westminster magistrates court on Friday.
He denies 12 counts of blackmail and one of misconduct. Johal was remanded in custody until a trial at the Old Bailey on November 2.
The arrest followed an anti-corruption team investigation. |
