Ofsted praises child services
WESTMINSTER children’s services won praise from inspectors this week – despite criticism earlier this year following the Child B abuse case.
The Ofsted joint area review found arrangements for safeguarding children were “good”.
Support for children who misuse substances was also “good” while mental health services for children were rated by the study as “outstanding”.
It said staff “are supervised and trained very effectively and have well-controlled caseloads” and found looked-after children did well overall.
Westminster Council came under fire in February after Kimberley Harte and Samuel Duncan, from Maida Vale, were imprisoned for torturing their four-year-old daughter with cerebral palsy, known as Child B. |
