Snow and fir street
BOND Street will be transformed into a snowy winter wonderland in November in an event aimed at helping the Great Ormond Street Hospital children’s charity.
Bond Noël will shut the famous shopping street to traffic from 5pm on November 22.
Fake snow will appear to fall along the length of street, settling gently over the small groups of fir trees which will line the pavement.
Reindeer, carol singers, choirs, entertainers and musicians, will perform as rickshaw sleighs whisk shoppers to and from their favourite stores.
A celebrity guest will switch on the Christmas lights, a tradition started by Diana Princess of Wales in 1994 that has featured Liz Hurley, Ruby Wax, Caprice Bourrett, Jerry Hall, Trinny and Susannah, Jemma and Jodie Kidd and, most recently, by actress Thandie Newton. |
