Pimlico teachers the true heroes
• I NOTE that Pimlico School has achieved A level results exceeding the national average and that GCSE results continue to rise, hitting 50 per cent 5 A*-C grades. Many staff, students and parents questioned Ofsted’s decision to place Pimlico into special measures at the beginning of the year and these results surely bring that decision further into question.
One of the key judgments was that the school lacked capacity to improve quickly enough. The results seem to disprove that theory.
No doubt Jo Shuter and the Interim Executive Board will try to take all the credit for these results – but we should remember that when the HMI returned to the school last June they judged that the school was still making inadequate progress.
Surely these results should be attributed to the ongoing hard work of the dedicated teaching staff and students over the last two years. MICON HEMMINGS (Pimlico parent)
