It’s a Media boost
DISADVANTAGED teenagers in Victoria have won a major cash boost to set up their own magazine.
Government-funded Mediabox chose Westminster Befriend a Family for a £20,000 creative arts grant to set up the community freesheet.
The service in Buckingham Palace Road is for families from asylum seeking or refugee backgrounds with at least one child aged 14 years or under.
Project manager Jacqueline Crooks said: “The young people’s magazine will be widely circulated throughout the community and there will be a series of 12 photography and journalism workshops.”
