West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 14 September 2007
Uniformly good start
• I READ with some anger your article (School gates fiasco, September 7) regarding the introduction of the school uniform extension at Pimlico School.
The school students, parents, staff and local people have welcomed and embraced the new uniform rules. With the exception of a small minority – probably 15 students from the 1,300 on roll – all our students looked fantastic on the first day back last week. The atmosphere has been superb and the students are incredibly positive.
The article refers to the lack of consultation which is completely false as is the report of “scores” of children being sent home.
The standards at Pimlico continue to rise with the support of staff, students and parents, whom I would like to publicly thank. You have made the start of term a pleasure!! JO SHUTER
