Festival of Jewish culture
THE biggest one-day festival of Jewish culture in the country took place in Trafalgar Square on Saturday.
An estimated 25,000 attended the Simcha event featuring live music performances, traditional food and family fun.
It was organised by Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone working with Jewish Culture UK and a range of Jewish organisations. He said: “I am very pleased with the success of this year’s Simcha on the Square. It is a wonderful opportunity for London’s Jewish community to celebrate their culture, and it is also a public statement of London government’s recognition of the important role the Jewish community plays in all areas of London life.” |
