Drink-related injuries soar
WESTMINSTER’S ambulances have more call outs for drink-related injuries than any other borough in the country.
There has been an increase in such calls to 999 of 13 per cent in the last year – with 3,356 alcohol-related incidents between November 2006 and September 2007.
An ambulance spokesman said: “No other primary care trust has greater demand.”
REVELLERS caught short in the West End this Christmas can use their mobile phones to find the nearest toilet.
To take advantage of the Sat Lav text TOILET to 80097 and you will be texted back with the nearest location. The aim is to stop 10,000 gallons of urine fouling the streets. |
