West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published:7 December 2007
The wrong remedy
• I AM sure Judge Crichton has good intentions here (‘Terminator’ family court to help drug abuse parents, November 30).
But there are many parents who have not got drug or alcohol problems who have been acused by the Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service (Cafcass) of having Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy in order to take their babies away at birth.
The adoption targets and cash bonuses to encourage adoption have fuelled this corruption. This new incentive won’t work. BARBARA RICHARDS
