Man blinded by bus attack
A MAN was left partially blinded after being punched and kicked on the 31 bus. The attack happened on Saturday afternoon at the junction of Westbourne Grove and Chepstow Road. The attacker is thought to be aged about 20 with short, dark, curly hair and was wearing green khaki jacket. A police spokeswoman said: “This appears to have been a mindless and unprovoked attack that has left the victim with a serious injury to his eye.” Any witnesses are asked to contact detectives on 020 8246 0138 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Festive fare at the library
MAIDA Vale library will be spreading a little festive cheer when they hand out mulled wine and mince pies to visitors tomorrow (Saturday).
A series of special events is being held to mark the festive season at the Sutherland Avenue facility. A family learning event, where guests will be able to make Christmas tree decorations, will be held between 10.30am and noon provided by Westminster adult education service.
Teens to face crackdown
POLICE have launched a special operation targeting a group of teenagers in St James’s Park. St James’s officers are hunting a gang of “EMOs” aged between 13 and 17 who have been gathering in the park and getting involved in “rowdy activity” including drinking alcohol and abusing passers-by.“EMO” refers to middle-class teenagers who dress in modern punk or Goth fashion. |
