Ronnie Scott’s artistic boss quits over ‘vision’ for club
THE artistic director of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club has quit claiming a lack of vision in its management.
Leo Green has resigned amid speculation of a split with owner Sally Greene. In an email to colleagues he warned of “a total inability of the club to attract a general manager who lasted more than two months.”
He accused the club, which underwent a major refurbishment last year, of bowing to a more mainstream audience and excluding jazz lovers with rocketing ticket prices.
Owner Ms Greene said: “We have for some weeks now been in the process of recruiting a new managing director who will deliver the future vision for this iconic venue, appointing key team members as required.” |
