Media deal for Soho
GREG Dyke has heaped praise on Westminster Kingsway after the college announced its new partnership with the Soho media industry.
The former Director-General of the BBC said the college had “set a benchmark for excellence” at a launch party last month at the Victoria campus.
The new partnership means the college will provide specialist training direct to the creative industries in Soho.
Mr Dyke said: “We are talking about the next wave of talent, the people who are going to come up with the next Facebook or You Tube and brilliant interactive entertainment concepts.”
He added: “It makes absolute sense for media companies to have partnerships and collaborations with the best academics and the best talent in a network that has benchmarked standards of excellence.”
Project director Mandy Berry said: “It is a partnership which will enhance and add breadth to our existing work.”
James Purnell, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and David Lammy MP, minister for skills, attended the ceremony. |
