Students cut out to help image of the Met
THE fashion police targeted Met officers this week with plans for a snazzy new uniform.
The students (pictured) from the London College of Fashion presented their early ideas to the force and are awaiting feedback.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Steve Roberts, who is leading the Uniform Review, said: “Kitting out our officers for a variety of situations, from those ‘on the beat’ to those involved in firearms gives some idea of the demands that are put on our uniforms on a day-to-day basis.
“Our uniforms also have a key part to play in giving a professional image to the public.”
The project began last year and the final designs are expected to be presented in September 2008. |
