St Mungo support
• I WAS saddened to read of the opposition to St Mungo’s hostel in Endell Street (‘Drug Rehab? Not in our Backyard,’ February 8).
St Mungo’s provides help for those who need it most, and I for one am delighted that the hostel is being refurbished.
The Covent Garden Community Association is correct when it says that the area needs better facilities for the elderly, but this is not a zero-sum game. All members of our community deserve proper care and attention.
Many people face difficulties with alcohol and other drugs; for those trying to recover from dependency, receiving the invaluable support provided by St Mungo’s will greatly improve their chances of success.
