7/7 centre to stay open

FEARS that a centre set up to help victims of the July 7 bombings could be forced to close have been allayed after a funding boost.
The 7th July Assistance Centre, established by Westminster City Council after the 2005 attacks, will continue to provide support for people traumatised by those – and others incidents.
Support has also been given to those affected by the Bali and Dahab bombings and other major disasters, such as the 2004 tsunami.
Tessa Jowell, the minister responsible for humanitarian assistance, said: “There is a general recognition among those who have used the centre that it has been a lifeline for so many of those whose lives were changed forever on that day.”
You can find information, practical advice and emotional support by calling the centre on 0845 054 7444 or visiting 7julyassistance.org.uk
