‘Immediate emergency care’ kit to save lives
FIREFIGHTERS in the borough will be kitted out with new first aid equipment to boost the chances of survival for fire victims.
All fire engines will be equipped with defibrillators, suction devices and spinal collars to help improve treatment to victims of fires.
Westminster borough commander Archie Chandler said: “The introduction of the new immediate emergency care is good news for Westminster.
At incidents where circumstances prevent early access for paramedics, such as blocked access or unsafe structures, and where we are the first emergency service on the scene, our equipment will increase the chances of survival for casualties.” |
