Appeal over drive-by shooting
THE mother of a Kilburn man gunned down in a drive-by shooting a year ago, is appealing to anyone who might know his killers to come forward.
Tyno Kavuala, 20, of Blake Court, Malvern Road, was shot in broad daylight as he sat in his Audi A3 in a bus lane in Scrubs Lane near Willsden Junction station on March 4, 2007.
His mother, Severen Mukendi, said: “I want anyone who saw anything to come forward to police and help.”
Police have been confronted with a wall of silence since the murder, which they believe was a targeted gang-style execution.
DCI Andy Mortimer leading the investigation said: “Tyno was killed in cold blood, in broad daylight on a busy road in a targeted attack.
“I have no doubt there are people out there who know exactly who did this and why.
“I am appealing to those people to come forward and speak to police
“We have had good information, but at this time still need key pieces of evidence. Those who use guns are cowardly and I would appeal to all those who know who did this to have the confidence and courage to come forward.
“Our thoughts remain with his mother who is very distressed by the loss of her son.”
Anyone with any information can call the incident room on 020 7321 7228 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. |
