Fundraising in Grace’s memory
A FAMILY whose baby daughter suffered from a rare medical condition have donated £40,000 to the hospital where she died.
Grace Bradburn was aged just 13 months when she died on April 24 2007 in St Mary’s Hospital after contracting chicken-pox. A post-mortem revealed that she had lacked a vital gene needed to fight infections.
Grace’s parents Stuart and Natalie Bradburn, from Reading, said: “We have been able to bring some good out of Grace’s death so that her struggle was not entirely in vain.
“The fundraising is also a way for us to say a very heartfelt thank you to the intensive care staff for all the love and care that they showed Grace.”
The money will be used to help other critically ill children with muscle and sickle cell diseases.
The Bradburns are encouraging members of the public who wish to donate to their campaign to visit www.justgiving.com/gracebradburn |
