Children’s TV presenter left suicide notes
THE children’s television presenter Mark Speight wrote two suicide notes before being found hanged next to Paddington station, an inquest heard.
Detective Inspector William Jordan told Westminster Coroner’s Court on Wednesday that one note was found on his body and another in his flat. Coroner Dr Paul Knapman described the suicide of the 42-year-old as a “double tragedy”, referring to the earlier death of his fiancee, Natasha Collins, 31, who was found dead in the bath at the couple’s St John’s Wood home in January after a cocaine binge. Following Miss Collins’s death, Mr Speight moved in with her mother, Carmen. She reported him missing on Monday before his body was discovered on Sunday.
Paying tribute to the star, showbiz pal Al Pillay said he was “devastated” by the loss. |
