Verdict in chef killing
HOURS after meeting a man in the West End for the first time, chef Mohammed Raheem was murdered, a court heard.
The 29-year-old was found tied up and suffocated at his flat, in West Norwood, in May last year .
Old Bailey jurors were told by prosecutor Mark Dennis, QC, that Mr Raheem was left “trussed up like a chicken” on his bed with a scarf tied tightly across his mouth. He had been badly beaten on the face and head.
The popular chef was killed during a robbery after meeting builder Igor Irinel, 22, in a pub in Old Quebec Street.
Irinel and a fellow Romanian, Sorin Abuculesei, 33, both of Higham Road, Tottenham, were convicted of murder.
They face life sentences when Judge Jeremy Roberts deals with them next month. |
