Desmond Tutu to grace Lord’s
ANTI-apartheid hero Archbishop Desmond Tutu will talk about his love of cricket at Lord’s.
The reverend, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984, is a keen cricket fan and will be the first political figure to speak at the annual Cowdrey lecture.
MCC secretary and chief executive Keith Bradshaw said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Desmond Tutu has accepted the invitation. Dr Tutu is revered around the world as a moral voice and someone who speaks with gravitas. His views on the game – and the spirit of cricket – will be hugely interesting to cricket followers.”
More than 500 guests are due to hear Dr Tutu on June 10. |
