Boats go with the flow in Little Venice
MORE than 100 boats took to the water in Little Venice to celebrate the Canalway Cavalcade festival at the weekend.
Revellers enjoyed a floating procession of 130 boats, which were decorated and lit up in bright colours on Sunday evening, as part of the three-day bank holiday festival.
For the more adventurous, not content to walk to the towpath as the sun shone down on the Grand Union Canal, there were canoeing lessons and other activities on the water.
For the landlubbers there were a host of other activities including Morris dancing, a Punch and Judy show and a teddy bears’ picnic.
The annual event is organised by the Inland Waterways Association and has taken place every year since 1983. |
