London’s biggest free theatre festival |
There’s something for everyone as theatreland goes open air!
THEATRELAND stars from a medley of hit musicals turned out in Leicester Square at the weekend for London’s biggest free theatre festival.
Dreamcoats, Orcs, Spandex and pink ladies were all on show at the extravaganza hosted by TV’s I’m A Celebrity star Christopher Biggins.
Cast members from Avenue Q, Buddy, Chicago, Dirty Dancing, Grease, The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mamma Mia!, Stomp and The Lord of the Rings had the audience singing and dancing like no one was watching all day long.
Councillor Robert Davis, cabinet member for special events, said: “Without doubt, this has been our biggest and best West End LIVE. “We’ve seen spectacular performances from some of the nation’s favourite shows as well as brilliant acts representing Notting Hill Carnival, The Big Dance and Pride. “This event is a showcase for everything the West End has to offer and this weekend I think we’ve proved there really is something for everyone.” |
