West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 4 July 2008
No to show-stoppers
• THE grace and beauty of the Thai dancers and musicians in Trafalgar Square recently was just one of the delights of a most welcome new summer season of cultural events. The crowds who attended were most appreciative, but now a mean-spirited moaning minnie minority selfishly seeks to deny these shows to others (Bored with the music, June 27).
Trafalgar Square is the traditional location of all sorts of public events, yet it is a compact area in the vastness of London and is easily avoided on the few days of the events.
I note your correspondent travels from a distant part of town to the area where the shows take place. May we conclude that he does not regard the shows with as much distaste as he would have us believe? BRIAN GRLING
