Olympics star Du’aine gets school warmed up for the summer
YOUNGSTERS at St Augustine’s High School were put through their paces by Olympic silver medallist and Gladiators star Du’aine Ladejo as he helped launch a fun-packed programme of activities for the summer.
Mr Ladejo, who performs as his alter ego Predator in the revived TV show, swapped the travelator for the basketball court to provide a taster of what’s in store in the six-week Holiday Fun programme rolled out by Westminster Council this week.
Highlights include lessons in the high-octane, gravity-defying sport Parkour, storytelling workshops and a Paddington Arts programme in which children can learn how to make sparkly costumes.
Former European and Commonwealth champion Mr Ladejo, 37, said: “This programme is a great way to get young people enthusiastic and motivated about sport. “It is a great chance for children and teenagers to get involved in different activities and learn news skills.”
