Crowds revel at skaters in action |
Skaters have a royal time in revamped park
MORE than 100 skaters boarded about a brand new facility in Royal Oak on Saturday.
The Meanwhile 2 Gap Skate Park, which first opened in 1971, has had a £120,000 revamp – complete with ramps, banks and blocks.
Councillor Audrey Lewis, Westminster’s Cabinet Member for Customers and Neighbourhoods, said: “We are committed to offering the very best in leisure facilities in the Westminster and I am delighted that we have been able to contribute to this marvellous new skate park.
“We have worked closely with a core group of local skateboarders and kept them regularly informed of the redesign process to ensure they are happy with this end result.” |
