Police in drugs raid

POLICE have swooped on a crack house in Covent Garden.

Officers from the Holborn and Covent Garden Safer Neighbourhoods Team raided the flat in the early hours of Thursday September 18.
They discovered an assortment of tell-tale paraphernalia including six crack pipes, wires to clean the pipes, tin foil and cellophane.
A closure order granted at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court last week means anyone caught entering the flat in Nottingham House in the next three months may be arresters.
The order came after neighbours suspected the flat was being used to sell drugs.
Four people were in the address at the time of the raid but there were no arrests.
Sergeant Dean Kirby, from Holborn and Covent Garden SNT said: “The community has told us that they are extremely happy about the closure order, as not only was the use of drugs in the property causing anti-social behaviour in Nottingham House but also the surrounding area.”
He added: “This is another example of how effective Safer Neighbourhoods Teams can be with the help and information from the local community.”
