Health services score high in review
WESTMINSTER'S emergency care services have been ranked in the top five in London by the Healthcare Commission (HCC).
The watchdog has conducted a major review into urgent and emergency services across the city, with everything from Accident & Emergency to out-of-hours GP provision under the microscope.
The commission awarded the top five rating based on the delivery of services, as well as management and the way services work together.
Chief executive Michael Scott said: “Westminster PCT has been working hard to give patients the high standard of urgent and
emergency care services they need. A key part of this has been the introduction of one telephone number across Westminster for our residents to access a GP or nurse out-of-hours. Investment to improve healthcare is being planned in the areas with lower satisfaction ratings.” |
