West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 31 October 2008
‘Sack shock’ will have no impact
• CONTRARY to Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg’s claims (Housing boss in sack shock, October 24), we would like to reassure your readers that the decision to remove the chairman of CityWest Homes, Kevin Bond, will have no impact on the services to residents. In Westminster we are rightly proud of our council housing. The needs of tenants and lessees and the quality of the services provided to them are our primary concerns. We would also like reiterate the council’s commitment to CityWest Homes
and to arm’s length management (Almo) of our housing stock.
The Almo model provides the opportunity to focus on continual improvement in
service quality.
Since 2002, CityWest’s staff and contractors have delivered significant improvements in customer satisfaction, while improving our housing to the Decent Homes standard well ahead of the government’s target date.
We are now working with the executive team at CityWest and the board will be appointing a new chairman. Cllr Philippa Roe
Cabinet Member for Housing
Westminster City Council
