Build homes elsewhere
• HAVING in the last year left Church Street ward after 37 years a resident, I kept telling Karen Buck MP that this area of London was full up and new homes should be built elsewhere.
There is a lack of green spaces and also the pressures on local services etcetera was in meltdown and already a massive social housing existing presence. No wonder it comes so low in every social measure and is defined as one of the poorest wards in the country.
Every school has portable cabins for the extra pupils and yet we keep taking more people in building more homes.
Building new homes outside London no problem, but for goodness sake Church Street ward is full up.
Perhaps Westminster City Council has made the correct decision (‘Arrogance’ over sacked homes boss, October 31) but they are not supposed to interfere.
I am not bothered Dr Kevin Bond went but another 600 homes being built would put more pressure on services. James Quinn
