They think it’s Christmas... It is now!
MARYLEBONE will be transformed into a winter wonderland next week when the Christmas lights are switched on.
Crowds are expected to flock to Marylebone High Street on Wednesday as football’s first lady, Gaby Logan, takes to the stand to flick the switch and bask the bustling village in shafts of festive light.
If the prospect of the lights is not enough, do not despair, because there will be angelic carol singers from Westminster primary schools, cockle-warming mince pies and enough mulled wine to melt a snowman.
And if you’re still feeling like a Christmas grinch, you can always pay Santa a visit in his Grotto, enjoy the fireworks or relax to the sounds of the Royal Academy Brass Quartet.
There will also be a chance to stock up on stocking fillers, with the popular Sunday Cabbages and Frocks market setting up stall, and a heap of one-off bargains from the street’s swanky shops.
The show, organised by the Howard de Walden Estate, kicks off at 4pm with the big switch on scheduled for 6pm.
