Victim: Jevon Henry Victim: Jevon Henry
Teenage stab victim
‘knew he was dying’

THE teenage victim of a knife attack predicted his own end as he lay fatally injured on the Lisson Green estate.
“I’m going to die,” student Jevon Henry, 18, told police when they arrived.
Mr Henry was taken by ambulance to St Mary’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A jury at the Old Bailey heard the chilling account this week, two years after Mr Henry was attacked, when five young men went on trial in connection with the murder.
Jevon, a former St George’s school pupil, lived with his parents in Paveley Street, on the estate. The accused were his neighbours, all living on the estate.
Jubed Miah, 26, and Toufajul Miah, 21, of Olney House, Kamal Abdul, 21, and Muhid Abdul, 26, of Horwood House, and Taz Uddin, 22, of Paveley Street, deny any involvement in the slaying.
Prosecutor Aftab Jafferjee QC told the jury that violence flared on the evening of January 24 2007 after Mr Henry had been involved in a dispute.
He was hit on the head with a hammer and suffered a single stab wound which penetrated his heart to a depth of three inches.
The teenager was conscious and being comforted by three women when police Sergeant Sandra Hollands and her colleague Constable Alan Casey arrived by patrol car at about 8pm.
Sgt Hollands said: “He was on the footway. He was wearing light jeans and a hooded top.
“His Afro hair was held in a red band. He was moving and groaning.”
The officer said that they could see no visible sign of injury and they tried to assure Jevon that an ambulance was on its way and that he could survive.
But when they went to examine him briefly he “lashed out with his arms” and would not co-operate.
The officers faced a further problem “when eight black and Asian youths” arrived on the scene.
Jevon was shouting “Leave me alone, I’m going to die,” said Sgt Hollands.
The trial continues.
