Teen stabbing gang jailed for life

A five-man gang of brutal killers who ambushed a teenager involved in a drugs feud on the Lisson Green estate have begun life sentences following an Old Bailey trial.
Jubed Miah, 26, and his brother Toufajul Miah, 21, of Olney House, Kamal Abdul, 21, and Muhid Abdul, 26, of Horwood House, and Taz Uddin, 22, of Paveley Street, were sentenced on Friday.
At the end of a lengthy hearing, Judge Giles Forrester branded them “cruel and ruthless” over the murder of “devoted son” Jevon Henry.
The gang fled to Bangladesh as police hunted for them across London. They were eventually sent back to face a six-week trial.
Jevon, who was studying to become a motor mechanic, “dabbled” in cannabis sales and was targeted by his attackers when they spotted him and a friend “on the wrong side” of their estate.
The pair were walking through a car park on the evening of January 24, 2007, as the armed gang “hunting as a pack”, surrounded them. The friend managed to escape but Jevon was trapped and battered with a hammer.
Prosecutor Aftab Jafferjee QC, said the leader of the gang, Muhid Abdul, who wielded a knife and struck the fatal blow, boasted of earning vast sums of money from cocaine sales and the number of top-of-the-range cars he used.
Tragically, Jevon predicted his own end as he lay fatally injured from a stab wound which penetrated three inches into his heart.
“I’m going to die,” he told police when they arrived and battled to save him.
The 18-year-old was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The jury heard the chilling account of Jevon’s last words after the five young men in the dock all denied the murder and claimed self-defence.
Jevon, a former St George’s School pupil, lived with his parents at Paveley Street, on the estate.
The accused all lived on the estate, full or part-time.
The judge told Muhid Abdul he must serve a minimum 19 years before being able to apply for parole. His brother must serve at least 15 years. Jubed Miah and Taz Uddin will also serve minimum 15-year terms and Toufajul Miah was handed a 16-year minimum term.that visitors to the Leicester Square area are able to enjoy a unique experience amongst the many attractions, inspired by the long and friendly relationship between Switzerland and the City of Westminster.”
The original Swiss Centre was built by the Swiss government in the 1960s.
The building was bought by British Land in 1994 for £23million, and then by the current developers McAleer & Rushie, who are transforming it into a five-star hotel.
