Hospital can be fun: And that goes for the for parents as well as young patients
WITH their sterile corridors and nail-biting inducing waiting rooms, fun isn’t the first word that springs to mind when you think about hospitals.
At St Mary’s in Paddington new units for children undergoing bone marrow transplants have displaced the play area, so a brand new bigger and better one is being built.
Play specialist Jenny Lings said: “It’s a great place for the parents to come and play with their children and it makes coming to hospital more fun for the patients.”
The move also means the play area is well away from the clinical part of the ward where seriously ill children suffering from blood disorders such as thalassemia or aplasia are treated.
