The mayor and the minimum wage
• THE Mayor of London Boris Johnson claims that being paid £250,000 a year for writing a column in the Daily Telegraph is chicken feed. If I am not mistaken this works out at about £5,000 a week.
I am sure that many of London’s workers on the minimum wage would be happy to get a fraction of that.
His statement shows this Tory mayor’s contempt for the majority of us and even his supporters in the suburbs must be having doubts. Such statements deserve our opposition. EDDIE ADAMS
