Two men held after fatal attack near Ritz
Former surgeon, 32, was kicked to death on street
A MURDER investigation has been launched after a management consultant and former surgeon at Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital died on Wednesday after a brutal attack in Green Park.
Dr Nadim Gulamhuseinwala, 32, was repeatedly kicked in the head in the early hours in Queens Walk, near the Ritz Hotel, after a night out in the West End on July 25.
A post mortem examination is expected to take place today (Friday) at Westminster Coroner’s Court.
His family has requested that they be left in peace in this difficult time.
But a spokesman at McKinsey & Company, the Mayfair consultancy firm where he worked for two years, said: “We are deeply saddened and shocked at this news – and all our thoughts are with Nadim’s family.
“Out of respect to the family, and as this is a police matter, we will not be commenting further.”
Two men, both 19, are being questioned by police on suspicion of murder and robbery.
Both men, who police believe stole his mobile telephone and wallet, were arrested at their homes last Wednesday in Bromley.
Dr Gulamhuseinwala also lived in Bromley.
Dr Gulamhuseinwala was an “engagement manager” working for the internationally renowned firm with plush London offices in Jermyn Street.
The firm was recently named in the Top 100 places to work and has a record for training bright young consultancy stars of the future.
Dr Gulamhuseinwala appeared to have a promising future ahead of him.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help them with the investigation.
