Early worms! Libraries help children turn over a new leaf
SCHOOLchildren celebrated National Bookstart Day with special song and rhyme storytelling sessions at libraries across Westminster.
Under-fives were invited to join in the fun activities at their local libraries to encourage them to give up the screens for a few hours and get into reading.
Councillor Ed Argar, cabinet member for adult and community services said: “Bookstart Day was a perfect opportunity for local parents to introduce young children and babies to the reading and storytelling sessions that take place weekly in Westminster’s libraries.”
Bookstart is a national programme which aims to provide a free pack of books to every baby in the UK. |
