Child centre set for spring 2011
A NURSERY in Pimlico will be transformed into a baby clinic and child health centre.
Under a £4.6 million scheme overseen by the council, NHS Westminster and the government, the nursery in Bessborough Street will expand to take in nurses, health visitors, social workers and education welfare officers.
Families in Pimlico’s Tachbrook, Churchill, Warwick and Vincent Square wards will also be able to access ante-natal classes, nutrition classes, a creche and advice on housing, debt, benefits and finding work.
Facilities will provide a nursery offering full day care for children up to age five.
The new building is due to open by April 2011.
The 40 children at the nursery are moving into a temporary space in Page Street until the works are completed. |
