West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 6 November 2009
For better health
• THIS week we have two new health service facilities opening in Westminster.
First, there is a new family doctor service in Queen’s Park, open 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year for both registered and non-registered patients.
It is in addition to existing family doctor services in the area.
The centre will initially open at Woodchester Square and will then move to its permanent home on the Harrow Road in early 2010. The services will include minor surgery, family planning, blood tests and many more.
Secondly there is a new NHS dental practice in Marylebone offering extended opening times from Monday to Friday and a Saturday morning service.
The new service will be able to treat 6,000 residents. For details call 0800 587 8818.
At a time when public services are under pressure this is great news for local residents and a huge tribute to the government’s commitment to improving local services. cllr Paul Dimoldenberg
