10 New York minutes sketch

MOST of us in the capital are so waylaid by our warp-speed lives we struggle to even remember what day of the week it is.
One man with no such problems is Maida Vale artist Stephen Wiltshire, who last week recreated the entire New York skyline from memory after just a
10-minute helicopter ride over the city.
Mr Wiltshire’s 18ft panorama, which includes the Empire State and Chrysler buildings, took him five and half days to draw and will go on display here later this year.
Mr Wiltshire, 35, who was diagnosed with autism at an early age, said: “I love New York, the busy streets, rush hour, the chaos, yellow taxis and the high-rise buildings reaching up to the sky. New York is beautiful.”
