Champions: Stacey parties at St Mary’s
ST Mary’s Hospital hosted a party to celebrate the one year anniversary of a charity it set up to support children who have undergone bone marrow transplants.
CHAMPS, the centre for haematology at St Mary’s paediatric services has raised more than £55,000 for the Paddington hospital which houses the UK’s only specialist centre for non-malignant blood conditions.
More than 50 children who have received transplants attended the Party for Champions on Sunday last week.
One partygoer, recovering sickle cell patient Stacey Bola, 12, became the 100th patient to benefit from the life-saving procedure after her brother, Bradley, donated his bone marrow. |
